Dr Carroll is an expert in farm and companion-animal welfare science and human-animal interactions
Dr Carroll's research is focused on animal welfare and human-animal interactions. She's interested in research on farm-animal welfare, mostly pigs but also beef and dairy cattle and broiler chickens. She is also interested in anthrozoology (human-animal interactions), feline welfare, and evolutionary psychology. Current research interests include human behaviour change for improving animal welfare and understanding the evolutionary history between humans and domesticated animals.
