Queen¡¯s University names global trailblazers in new leadership initiative
Students and graduates from across the Queen¡¯s global community are being celebrated as part of a new campaign.

Inspired by the founding of the University in 1845, the Queen’s Leaders 18-45 project is a new global initiative designed to recognise the contributions of Queen’s students and alumni and celebrate the University's 180 year anniversary.
Launched at an alumni event in London sponsored by Perkins Coie, the campaign spotlights exceptional students and graduates between the ages of 18 and 45 who are driving positive change across the globe, and recognises a new generation of leaders, innovators and advocates who embody the University’s longstanding commitment to shaping a better world.
It also includes current students who have made an impact on the wider community, acting as role models and inspiring others to create positive change.
From classroom to boardroom, across business, finance, law, arts, science and medical backgrounds, the students and alumni profiled will inspire and raise ambitions for the future.
Professor Sir Ian Greer, President and Vice-Chancellor of Queen’s University Belfast, said:
“Leadership comes in many forms: we will profile those excelling in their chosen careers, but also those students and graduates overcoming challenges, contributing to their communities and helping to make the world a better place for all.
“Through this campaign, Queen’s will celebrate alumni and students across diverse fields, whose contributions inspire and uplift communities locally, across these islands, and internationally.”
Chief Financial Officer at Sephora UK and Queen’s graduate, Belinda Brown, said:
“I’m truly honoured to be recognised as one of Queen’s Leaders 18-to-45. I attended Queen’s from 2000 to 2005, graduating with a BSc and MSc in Finance, and my time there played a pivotal role in shaping my career. The education and experience I gained at Queen’s, including a placement year in London, equipped me with the skills, confidence, and network to navigate the professional world.
Beyond its academic excellence, Queen’s fosters a spirit of ambition, resilience, and community that continues to inspire me. I’m especially proud of the role that Queen’s plays in opening doors for students from all backgrounds, helping them to improve their lives and succeed. It’s a privilege to represent the positive and lasting impact of a Queen’s education.”

“It's an absolute privilege to join the ranks of the exceptional students and alumni of Queen’s as part of the 18-45 campaign. The unwavering support, mentorship, and guidance I received from the incredible lecturers, staff members, and friends during my university days - especially through the challenging times of Covid - have played a vital role in shaping the person I am today.
“Queen’s motto ‘Pro tanto quid retribuamus?’ (‘In return for so much, what shall we give back?’) continues to be a source of inspiration as I move forward in my career. It reminds me of the impact I can have on the people, community, and world around me; and more importantly, to embrace the joy and privilege of giving back whenever I can!”
Craig Fagan, Partner at law firm Perkins Coie added:
“I am humbled and so grateful to be recognised alongside such talented and successful Queen’s graduates as an18-45 leader. The university provided an amazing platform for my career; I wouldn’t be where I am now were it not for Queen’s and hope I can do it proud.”
Sir Ian added: “By recognising these inspiring leaders and their global impact, the University reaffirms its dedication to fostering talent that transcends boundaries and creates lasting change. The Queen’s Leaders 18-to-45 campaign, and the individuals it celebrates highlight the University’s ongoing journey in shaping leaders who not only excel in their fields but also drive meaningful impact in their communities, in Belfast and beyond.
“As we mark our 180th anniversary, we will be celebrating our incredible alumni across the world, from London and Dublin to New York and Washington, from Belfast to Bangalore. We want to recognise and amplify your successes, connect you with fellow alumni, and inspire future generations of Queen’s graduates.
“Queen’s Leaders – we are proud of you, we support you and we look forward to celebrating your successes.”
